Greetings Stewart Elementary Families:
It is my pleasure and honor to introduce myself as the incoming principal of Stewart Elementary. I am extremely proud and excited to join this community and support our students and their families.
I am finishing my 19th year in education and have loved every moment. I began my journey in the Franklin Pierce School District. I have taught Physical Education and Health, AVID Elective, served as an instructional mentor, dean of students, and most recently a middle school assistant principal.
Since I have been hired at Stewart Elementary, I have connected with staff and have been focused on learning as much as possible about your community, values, and needs. The energy from staff and students at Stewart is positive, caring, and just plain fun. I am dedicated to continuing our students’ successes and will strive to build positive relationships, rigorous learning, and foster the incredible Stewart Star environment that encourages our students to celebrate their unique strengths.
Like you, I am a parent as well. My husband Eric is a 5th grade math and science teacher in University Place School District, and we have two sons. Kai is going into 7th grade and Kohl will be a 5th grader. My boys are as different as can be. One is huge into sports while the other is in love with music. They are both energetic and sweet. My family brings me great peace and joy. There has never been a greater sense of awakening as an educator for me than the day I became a mother. I realized for the first time when I held my son that when I go to work each day, I am teaching someone’s baby. Family is what centers our lives and I take this responsibility of caring for your child to heart.
I view education as a lifelong process, and I will continue to learn much about our special pre-K-6th building, Stewart Elementary in this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that the students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to bring my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to the collaboration and support we will be able to give each other.
I am here to make every effort to help your child reach their fullest potential. I vow to give my all to our students’, and I will request the same efforts from our staff and school community. Together we will continue to move Stewart Elementary School students through a rich learning environment guided with love and support toward a bright future.
Thank you,
Audra Goodman
