Stewart Elementary Students
will continue to receive free meals in the 2022-2023 school year due to Community
Eligibility Provisions for schools. The
current USDA waiver that has allowed school districts to provide free breakfast
and lunch to all students is set to expire at the end of this school year,
resulting in the majority of schools districtwide transitioning back to regular
meal prices, with free or reduced-priced meals for families that qualify.
Our school, however, qualifies for non-pricing meal options. As such,
we will be able to continue providing breakfast and lunch for all students at
no cost.
We are thankful for this
funding resource to continue serving all students free meals at our school
without the burden of collecting household applications.
Please note:
Although meals are free to students, there are additional
benefits available for families who qualify by submitting a free and reduced-priced
meal application. Qualified students may also obtain reduced fees
for ASB cards, student device coverage protection, athletic fees and more.
Those who believe they may qualify, should also apply for benefits
when school starts to receive available fee reductions.
